George Brown Polytechnic was recently notified of a global cybersecurity incident involving Instructure, the vendor behind the Canvas learning system used by Deaf Learn Now and Academic Upgrading.

While George Brown has been notified, Instructure has not yet confirmed the specific scope, nature, or extent of any George Brown data that may be impacted. We have requested that Instructure provide this information as soon as possible.

Based on information shared by Instructure to date, they have advised that there is currently no indication that financial data or sensitive personal information has been compromised.

Currently, no immediate action is required from users. As a standard precaution, please remain vigilant against potential phishing emails and report any suspicious activity on your Canvas account to cybersecurity@georgebrown.ca.
